Ban a Vehicle / Manage Banned Vehicles

In this short guide you will see how you can ban a vehicle from a specific lot or edit/remove an existing ban.

What is the purpose of a ban and how does it work?

Property managers often see vehicles that abuse their lots, whether it be to get free parking and walking off to work, or playing the ''parking game'' to avoid paying for a monthly pass. A ban list gives property managers the option to register a plate and prevent this vehicle from obtaining a pass in a specified lot — meaning that if they still choose to park there, they will be subject to enforcement. Ban lists are shared with your enforcement detail if they are using a Smart Parking enabled system.

First, login to your account and select the site from your list of available sites.

In the visitors parking tab, you can access the banned vehicles section from the top menu.

This will allow you to see the banned vehicle history, the active bans are indicated by a blue "Active" status marker, and the expired bans are indicated with a red "Expired" status marker. To create a new ban, click on ''Ban Vehicle'' in the top right.

This will open the form that needs to be filled out. Please make sure you type an explanation in the notes section. We highly recommend this so that you keep track of the reason in case of an inquiry, but also because your enforcement officers can see these notes. Note also that you must select an end date, however, you can set this to be years down the road if you wish. To change the month on the calendar, click on the top right or top left corner of the calendar popup. A small grey box should appear to let you know your cursor is in the right place.

Here's an example of what your completed banned vehicle form might look like:

Once you're finished with your form, press submit, and you'll see the banned vehicle listed among other previously banned vehicles.

If you wish to remove or edit a ban, you can do so by using the action buttons on the right while viewing the ban list.
