In this guide, we’ll learn how to create and manage territory violations using Smart Parking. Violations are used when issuing an infraction citation, allowing you to select from a dropdown menu what rule was broken at your site.

To begin, click the “Enforcement” button from the menu on the left of your screen, then, select “Manage Citations.”

From the “Manage Citations” tab, click on “Territory Violations” in the top menu.

The “Territory Violations” tab will display all of the existing violations in this territory that you can attach to a citation. To create a new violation, press the blue “New Territory Violation” button in the top right corner which will prompt you to fill out a form.

This form will ask for information about the new violation you want to create. First, enter a code by which the violation can be identified, and make sure this code is unique. The code can be composed of any combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.

Next, enter a short description of what the violation in question is, i.e. “Parked in Visitor Parking,” then set the fee price. You must set both an early payment fee and a standard fee, however, these numbers can be the same if you want to effectively remove the early payment fee option.

Once you’ve completed this form, press “Submit" to see the new violation listed among all other existing violations in this territory.

If you want to edit an existing violation instead of creating a new one, press the blue pencil or red trash can action button on the right side of the specific violation you want to edit or delete respectively. The pencil button will bring up the exact same form seen above. This will let you edit the violation's fee, code, etc.
