Issuing and Managing VIP Passes

In this guide, we’ll go over how to set VIP vehicles for your sites. Classing a vehicle as VIP means that they don’t have to follow the regular rules of your lot. There are a number of reasons why you might want to class a vehicle as VIP, for example, allowing a contractor to park without issue.

To begin, navigate to your desired site from the Dashboard, or the “Territories and Sites” button.

From here, click the “Visitors Parking” button, then select “VIP Visitors”

From this tab, you will be able to see all of the VIP passes you’ve issued in the past, and once you issue a new pass, it will show up here as well. For now, though, click “Add Visitor” in the top right corner which will bring up a form for you to fill out.

Once you’ve opened the form, it will ask you some basic information about the vehicle and parker you’re registering as a VIP. Note that while you do have to set an end date for the vehicle’s VIP status, this can be years down the road. If you effectively want a pass that will never expire, set the end date to a hundred years later by navigating through the calendar.

Also, it's important to set notes describing the reason for the vehicle’s VIP status. If your enforcement team is using a Smart Parking integrated enforcement system, they’ll be able to see these notes.

Once you’ve completed the form, press submit, and you’ll have issued a brand-new VIP pass which will be listed among previous passes. If you want to edit or delete any of your VIP passes, use the action buttons on the left-hand side of the screen. The blue pencil icon will allow you to edit any aspect of the pass you’ve issued, including extending the pass’ active time, and the red trash can will delete the pass - this action is irreversible so be careful when deleting passes.
